Founded in 2022 in Randburg, Madulini Energy has grown from logistics into petroleum wholesale, offering bulk, mini-bulk, and on-road fuel solutions across South Africa. Backed by Gulfstream Energy (30% owned by TotalEnergies SA), we are a 100% black-owned and 65% black women-owned, B-BBEE Level 1 company committed to empowerment, innovation, and transformation.
We serve key industries including transport, retail, mining, construction, government, agriculture, marine, and aviation. Our services range from large-scale bulk supply to fast mini-bulk deliveries and nationwide on-road refuelling at 39 sites, with 95% on-time delivery. Value-add offerings include tanks, pumps, fuel management, tailored agreements, and strong EHS practices.

Founded in 2009, Gulfstream Energy has grown into a trusted industry leader, supplying approximately 2% of South Africa’s total fuel requirements across multiple sectors, including
transport, mining, retail, and public sector – consistently delivering over 1 million litres of fuel each day out of 30 depots to every corner of the country.
Total Energies South Africa Acquired a 30% stake in Gulfstream Energy in February 2018, strengthening the company’s fuel supply capabilities and ensuring 100% quality assurance for its customers.

BUHLE MADULINI
CO-FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Buhle Madulini, Co-founder and CEO of Madulini Energy, began his journey in logistics in 2013 before gaining communications, strategy, and relationship building expertise in the media sector for a decade, all while keeping one foot in the freight industry. In 2022, he co-founded Madulini Logistics and later expanded into petroleum wholesale with Madulini Energy. Buhle was instrumental in brokering the strategic partnership with Gulfstream Energy, securing national scale and supply reliability for the business. His leadership is defined by empowerment, innovation, and a vision to build a globally competitive African enterprise.
Thando Kubheka-Madulini is the Co-founder and Chairperson of Madulini Energy. An award-winning journalist with over a decade of experience in broadcast media, she holds a BA Honours Degree in Journalism and Media Studies from Wits University. Having served as a Senior Journalist at Primedia and Executive Producer for Talk Programming at Kaya FM, Thando plays a pivotal role in governance, corporate communications, and strategic positioning, ensuring the company’s message and mission resonate with stakeholders, clients, and partners across the energy sector.
